HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The Houston Police Department says it’s still working to track down someone accused in a road rage shooting that sent a man to the hospital.
According to HPD, officers got the call about the shooting around 9:15 p.m. on Sunday.
They said they found the man who had been shot pulled over at a gas station at the corner of Scott Street and Hadley Street in the Third Ward.
Video shows several bullet holes in the driver’s side window and door of the victim’s blue Ford pickup truck.
HPD says it’s still working to figure out exactly where the shooting happened, but says the victim told them it all started when another driver cut him off.
“From the statement of the victim and his passenger, they were driving on the feeder of 45 when another car cut them off. There was some kind of road rage — the other vehicle fired shots, striking the victim’s vehicle and also hitting the victim two times,” HPD Lieutenant J.P. Horelica said.
HPD says the victim was taken to the hospital and is considered stable.
Police say the victim’s girlfriend was in the truck with him, but was not shot.
So far, a detailed description of the suspect nor the vehicle has been released.
