The Dallas Cowboys do not appear to be anxious to get back into the Maxx Crosby business. Jerry Jones spoke on Tuesday at the NFL’s league meetings in Arizona and as you can imagine, he was asked about one of the big things that happened to his team over the offseason.
Obviously the Maxx Crosby trade is something that didn’t happen to the Cowboys, but given that they finished the initial sweepstakes with the silver medal, and the fact that the gold-winning Baltimore Ravens exited the proverbial podium, is why people are so interested on if the game will be resumed.
Jerry Jones said the Cowboys are likely good on Maxx Crosby
This Cowboys offseason has been full of plenty of surprises as far as the team being active in free agency, but Jerry’s quote on Crosby was exactly what people assume from the team. Watch it for yourself.
To his credit Jerry did say that he did not see the Cowboys being involved in a potential Maxx Crosby discussion, but he also left the door open for it to be walked through at some point down the road. Maybe that would be closer to the league’s trade deadline several months from now.
While this sort of feels like “we aren’t going to do it, but please keep talking about it” there is some potential truth here. You should never fully close any door. Nobody has any idea what circumstances will be like half a year from now.
Do you think the Cowboys will wander down this path again with Crosby? Should they?
