HOUSTON – The Rice women’s track and field team will have several athletes competing this weekend at the Texas Relays, starting Thursday afternoon in Austin, Texas.
Saniya Friendly is slated to compete in the 100m after winning the event last weekend at the Victor Lopez Classic with a time of 11.79s.
Mikayla Wills will race in the 100m hurdles, where she was sixth last weekend with a time of 14.18s. Sydney Freeman will race in the 400m hurdles, with a season best time of 1:00.18 to start the season at UH.
Rice’s 4×400 squad returns to the track after starting the season with one of the top times in the American Conference (3:41.65) last weekend.
The Owls will have a full team outing at Texas A&M next weekend.
