5-year-old on scooter fatally struck by vehicle in Fort Worth

A 5-year-old girl died in Fort Worth Sunday when she was hit by a vehicle while riding a scooter, police said.

The girl died after being hit around 3 p.m. in the 1900 block of Portland Street, Fort Worth police said.

While riding a scooter, police said the girl went out of their driveway and into the street in front of a vehicle.

The girl was then hit and landed underneath a nearby parked vehicle.

Police said the driver immediately got out of their vehicle and performed CPR on the child until medical assistance arrived.

She was taken to a hospital where she died, police said.
