A seafood chain has closed the doors of one of its Houston locations. The Catch, known for its coastal Cajun cuisine, shut down its Willowbrook restaurant at 7608 FM 1960.Â
It’s unclear when The Catch said goodbye to its space near Willowbrook Mall. According to Community Impact Houston, who first reported the closure, it quietly closed in the beginning of March. That specific location is still listed on The Catch’s website, but its phone number is out of service. Managers at both the South Post Oak and Atascocita locations confirmed to Chron that the Willowbrook location is no longer open.
Clarissa Rivera, general manager for the The Royal Spring Shopping Center restaurant in Humble, told Chron that it closed due to an increase in rent for that space. When asked, she said there are no plans for any of the three other Houston locations to close.
Chron has reached out to The Catch for more details. We will update this story if and when we hear back.
The Catch’s Willowbrook location reportedly opened in fall 2020, taking over the former space of Houston burger joint Becks Prime. Designed to bring a taste of the Gulf Coast to the table, the seafood spot has a wide variety of classic Cajun comfort dishes, like boiled crawfish, catfish filets and crispy gator bites … plus some with a twist like Bourbon chicken pasta, shrimp etouffee quesadillas and chicken with beignets.
