LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Lubbock Police Department says one person is in jail following a chase on Wednesday afternoon.
LPD said Charles Sykes was speeding near the 2000 block of W. Loop 289 when a motorcycle cop attempted to pull him over.
Sykes refused and led officers on a chase. He then crashed the car he was driving while trying to turn into a parking lot near 4th St. and Bangor Ave.
The two officers attempting to pull him over crashed as well but pursued Sykes on foot into an apartment complex in the area. The officers were able to arrest Sykes on multiple warrants and charged him with evading arrest.
LPD said the cops only had minor injuries and are okay. LPD said an investigation is underway.
