Corpus Christi police say they are investigating the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man that happened on Oct. 26 near Calallen.
At about 11:40 p.m., officer with the Corpus Christi Police Department responded to a call of a shooting in the 4600 block of Sharpsburg Road, according to a news release written by officer Madeline Vaughn.
When they arrived, they found a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound and immediately began administering life-saving measures until medics arrived. Medics took the man to a local hospital, where he later died of his injuries.
Police say they detained several people at the scene.
The police department did not immediately respond on Oct. 27 when asked if anyone had been charged in connection with the shooting.
The department’s Criminal Investigation Division determined that someone drew a weapon during a disturbance that night.
Police say this was an isolated incident.
