LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A 49-year-old woman was arrested Wednesday afternoon after fleeing a traffic stop and leading Texas Department of Public Safety troopers on a pursuit into Lubbock.

A DPS trooper stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Texas 114 at the Lubbock/Hockley County line at approximately 2:25 p.m. The driver fled, and a pursuit began.

The vehicle continued eastbound on Texas 114 and entered the city of Lubbock, where the highway becomes 19th Street. As the vehicle approached the intersection of 19th Street and Iola, a second DPS trooper deployed a tire deflation device.

The device brought the vehicle to a stop at 19th Street and Frankford. The driver, Christina Ewing, 49, was uninjured and taken into custody.

Ewing was transported to Lubbock County Detention Center and booked on evading with vehicle and resisting arrest along with the traffic offense of passing certain vehicles.
