There’s a new wine bar coming to the historic Fort Worth T&P Station: Called Station & Vine Wine Bar, it’ll open in the former T&P Tavern at 221 W. Lancaster Ave., and will be managed by Edible Ideas Inc., a Texas-based hospitality company.
T&P Tavern closed in 2024.
According to a release, Edible Ideas Inc. will also oversee a wedding and event venue in the historic ballroom.
Edible Ideas Inc. is known for its catering operations for Fort Worth Stockyards Station and at the Exhibit Café inside Fort Worth Museum of Science and History.
Station & Vine Wine Bar will be a distinctive full-service wine bar with wines, wine flights, craft beers and signature cocktails. With a focus on Texas wines and small-batch brews, Station & Vine will offer full beverage service at the bar and also in the ballroom.
An adjoining outdoor patio will be transformed into a garden-inspired space with lawn games and lounge areas.
The wine bar will be used for corporate events, happy hours, and non-profit gatherings as well. Additionally, it will host weekly community events, such as wine tastings and trivia nights that are open to the public.
The ballroom
Fort Worth T&P Station Ballroom will be available for weddings and other events. The 5,400-square-foot ballroom was previously a waiting room for the Texas & Pacific Railway Terminal.
A portion of the space behind the counter will be transformed into a cozy lounge for more intimate events. An adjoining room will be available as a bridal suite private space for the bridal party to prepare for the ceremony.
The plans are to host a Wednesday night series called T&P Station Live with the look and feel of a 1920s-style supper club. The cabaret-themed setting would feature seating for 150 guests who would enjoy light dining options and craft cocktails from Station & Vine Wine Bar.
The partnership
The Fort Worth T&P Station and Ballroom have a rich architectural history. Built in 1931 by the Texas & Pacific Railway, the building is Fort Worth’s largest and most extravagant structure featuring the 1920s Zigzag Moderne style. The ballroom was beautifully restored in 1999 and has been available for wedding and event rentals.
Trinity Metro, Fort Worth’s transit agency, bought the tavern and concourse patio in July 2024, which allowed them to seek a single tenant for both spaces.
Trinity Metro owns Fort Worth T&P Station and is contracting with Edible Ideas Inc. to lease and manage the ballroom and dining area for a maximum contract period of 10 years, with an initial 3-year term.
