A beloved North Texas ice cream shop is set to open a second location in Plano this month, making it the fourth across the region.

Tongue in Cheek offers 28 rotating ice cream flavors with eight vegan and nondairy options. The shop’s flagship location is in Richardson, and it has other locations in Lewisville and Plano.

Owner Brett Smith said the new space is going through final inspections and will open early this month.

The spot on Alma Drive was previously a Jeremiah’s Italian Ice. That shop’s owner decided to sell before moving to California with her husband for his military job, according to Smith.

Smith was looking to expand to the Allen area, but he said the Plano space was “a great opportunity and perfect location.”
