CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Texas Police Chiefs Association was in town and making an impact, presenting a donation of more than $10,000 to Special Olympics Texas.

The organization has long served as a major fundraiser for Special Olympics Texas, supporting athletes across the state.

Members said their motivation comes from the relationships they build with those athletes.

“Texas especially with the growing number of athletes, the growing number of agencies that continue to grow and participate, continuously build a bond with athletes us and give us our motivation to do what we have to do to protect the world or protect our citizens,” said Chief Doug Reim, liaison for the Texas Police Chiefs Association.

“I am just proud of the relationship that the Texas Police Chiefs Association has with Special Olympics Texas and the wonderful athletes that participate in the program, we are honored to be a partner,” said Carrie Ellis, incoming president for TPCA.

The 2026 Special Olympics Texas Summer Games are scheduled for April 30 through May 3 in North Texas.
