On Thursday morning the PGA Tour’s communications department issued a weather warning that suggested thunderstorms could briefly roll through the area at TPC San Antonio in the last leg of the PGA Tour’s Texas swing before the first major tournament of the year, the Masters, tees off on April 9.
“A weak front will reach TPC San Antonio and eventually dissipate over the area today. Before it dissipates, a brief window for showers will exist, mainly between 7-10 am,” the tour announced. “A few strikes of lightning could also occur.”
The weather warning turned prophetic when the first round of the Valero Texas Open was delayed due to a dangerous weather situation.
