Officials say the child was taken to a local hospital with “incapacitating injuries.”

ROUND ROCK, Texas — A child was injured after they were hit by a vehicle while riding their bicycle near Teravista Elementary on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), troopers responded to a crash involving a pedestrian around 3:39 p.m. at the intersection of Teravista Club Drive and Teravista Parkway in Round Rock. 

A preliminary investigation found the child was riding a bicycle while crossing the crosswalk when they were hit by the vehicle, DPS said.

Officials say the child was taken to a local hospital with “incapacitating injuries.”

The crash remains under investigation. DPS said at this time, no enforcement measures have been taken against the driver.
