ARLINGTON, Texas — The Arlington Police Department has inaugurated a new storefront in the city’s Entertainment District, enhancing its presence and commitment to public safety.
The new satellite office, located at Choctaw Stadium near E. Randol Mill Road and Ballpark Way, was funded by the Arlington City Council, according to a press release from the department. This marks the fifth storefront opened by the department across Arlington and the first in the North District. Other locations include the Parks Mall, Arlington Highlands, and the southwest and southeast corners of the city.
The 1,180-square-foot space provides officers with a centralized location to complete police reports and administrative tasks during stadium events without leaving the district. It also offers a place for officers to take breaks and escape the elements, while enhancing the department’s visible presence in the area.
“When people come to the Arlington Entertainment District, they want to have fun and feel safe,” said Deputy Chief Steve Williams, who oversaw the project. “This storefront helps us achieve that and gives visitors an additional opportunity to engage with our police officers.”
The office features workstations and historical sports and department memorabilia to align with the Entertainment District’s theme. While accessible to officers 24/7, the storefront will not be staffed for public business. Residents seeking in-person assistance should visit the Ott Cribbs Public Safety Center or one of the department’s three substation locations.
