Medical City Frisco is celebrating 10 years of service this spring.
The hospital opened its doors April 1, 2016, after acquiring the facility from Forest Park Medical Center. Medical City Frisco opened with 54 beds, 12 operating suites, a three-bed emergency room, a full-imaging department, a lab and a blood bank. The hospital has since grown to be a 98-bed acute care hospital with a Level III Trauma Center, cardiovascular, neurological, spine, orthopedics and other services.
“Caring for the community is at the heart of who we are and everything we do at Medical City Frisco,” Medical City Frisco CEO Ken Stevens said in a April 1 news release. “As Frisco continues to welcome new residents, our hospital is proud to continue growing, expanding services, strengthening capabilities and deepening our impact. We look forward to the next decade and beyond as the destination of choice for healthcare excellence.”
To celebrate the decade of healthcare service, Medical City Frisco is donating $10,000 to Ronald McDonald House of Dallas to support the nonprofit’s hospitality cart program.

Looking back
The hospitals’ first cardiac catheterization lab opened in 2017 and its women’s services unit opened in 2018. The hospital opened a $91 million patient tower in 2022 which added 36 new beds. Since then, the hospital has continued to expand by adding rooms to its emergency department and debuting a new robotic spine surgery system, among other enhancements.
