A popular Central Texas-born alcohol brand will be closing the doors to its longtime hangout spot for strong drinks and good vibes this summer. Deep Eddy revealed that it will stop operating its Dripping Springs tasting room on June 13, according to its website.

The Austin-area vodka maker revealed in a news release that it plans to transition operations and sublease the space to another vodka distillery beginning August 1. This change comes as Deep Eddy seeks to continue to grow its footprint in Austin.

“This decision allows the brand to focus its energy and investment on the places and experiences that best reflect who Deep Eddy is today and where it sees the greatest opportunity, especially in Austin,” the company said in the release.

Over the years, the tasting room has become known as a gathering place that brings people together to socialize and enjoy mixed drinks crafted with Deep Eddy’s signature flavored vodka. The space offers a 38-foot bar, a 200-person seating area and terrace that overlooks the Texas Hill Country plus a stage for live music performances.

There’s also an innovation bar designated for taste testing new vodka flavors with Deep Eddy experts. The brand will not be involved in the day-to-day operations of the Dripping Springs location after July 31.

“We’ve had a lot of good times in Dripping Springs over the years, and we’re grateful for everyone who’s been part of it,” Deep Eddy says on its website. “While that chapter is coming to a close, Deep Eddy is still very much here in Texas. Our vodka continues to be crafted in Buda, and we’re more committed than ever to Austin, the place where it all started.”

The company confirmed that Deep Eddy’s distillery in Buda will continue to anchor the brand’s presence in Hays County, and its operations there are not changing. Deep Eddy added that it will continue to invest in its people, production, and partnerships in the area as the brand looks ahead to explore, “more ways to show up in Austin.”

“Deep Eddy Vodka is all about good times and bringing people together,” said Julie Cole, Brand Director, Deep Eddy Vodka. “Austin is where this brand got its start, and we’re excited to bring more of that energy back to the city.”
