PHOENIX — On Friday evening at the Mortgage Matchup Center, Texas women’s basketball and UCLA will battle in the Final Four round of the NCAA Tournament.
UCLA and Texas are respectively the No. 2 and No. 3 overall seeds in the NCAA Tournament. UCLA (35-1) has beaten California Baptist, Oklahoma State, Minnesota and Duke over the past two weeks by an average of 27 points. The margin of victory for Texas (35-3) in its tournament triumphs against Missouri State, Oregon, Kentucky and Michigan has been 142 points.
The winner of this game will play either UConn or South Carolina in Sunday’s NCAA championship game. Texas last reached the national championship game in 1986. UCLA has never played for a title.
