Adidas is readying an Originals store in Plano.

The German brand with the iconic three stripes is planning the retail site at Legacy West, according to Sophie LeRoux, spokesperson for Adidas.

The store will sit among stores that range from Lululemon and J. Crew to Louis Vuitton, Gucci — and Nike.

“Originals is rooted in creativity, self‑expression, and culture — from music and fashion to art and sport,” LeRoux said in an emailed statement.

“Adidas is continuing to expand its … retail footprint in key cultural cities across the U.S., including a new store opening at Legacy West,” LeRoux said. “The Dallas store is designed to be a space that reflects local energy, creativity, and community, while showcasing premium product alongside limited, city‑specific assortments and experiences created for the Dallas market.”

The store is expected to open in June with over 3,200 square feet of dedicated retail space.

Adidas, which has outlet stores in a handful of D-FW cities, is locating its store on the eastern side of Legacy West, the shopping center’s website shows.

Adidas is taking up residence in Plano as the Dallas-Fort Worth region gets more attention from major brands looking to expand their retail footprint, with names such as Timberland and Miu Miu all set to join the fray.

The new store, located relatively near Frisco’s Toyota Stadium for FC Dallas, also coincides with World Cup events that are slated for the local area. North Texas World Cup Organizing Committee leaders have said to expect more than 100,000 daily visitors to D-FW during the event. Adidas’ connections to the World Cup and soccer are no secret. It’s a partner of the event and has provided the official match balls for decades.

The Adidas Originals lineup includes clothing and shoes with categories for men, women and children.
