SAN ANTONIO – A monthlong string of thefts in San Antonio’s City Base area has led to an arrest.

Detectives with the Human Exploitation Unit said they were made aware in March that brass cut-off valves were being stolen in the City Base area on the South Side of San Antonio.

Investigators said the thefts happened almost every day for the entire month of March.

Detectives said they gathered enough evidence to identify Carlos Garcia as the suspect. Authorities said a warrant was obtained and Garcia was arrested today.

The case is listed as theft of material involving aluminum, bronze, copper or brass valued at less than $20,000.
