Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Plano West). They put the hurt on the McKinney Lions with a sharp 19-2 victory on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Wolves sure are getting used to it with their seventh in a row.
Kendall Prowell made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits (and not a single walk). Prowell was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one double. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Brooke Reasoner was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Jennings, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.
Plano West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .640. That was just more of the same: they’ve now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in seven consecutive contests.
