There are three ranked matchups this weekend, as the path to the College Football Playoff begins to take shape. At noon on ABC, No. 9 Vanderbilt take on No. 20 Texas and at 7:30, the No. 18 Oklahoma face No. 14 Tennessee. Vanderbilt’s ranking is the highest since they reached No. 7 in 1937, according to ESPN Research.

ESPN College Gameday will be in Salt Lake City for the final ranked matchup of the night, as Big 12 rivals No. 17 Cincinnati square off with No. 20 Utah at 10:15 p.m. The Bearcats haven’t been ranked this high since 2021, the year they qualified for the Playoff.

Elsewhere on the schedule, No. 1 Ohio State is back in action after their bye, hosting an unranked Penn State. West Virginia fly south to take on No. 22 Houston, who are ranked for the first time since joining the Big 12.

No. 5 Georgia and No. 8 Georgia Tech are ranked in the top 10 for consecutive weeks for the first time since 1999.
