A man was killed during a vehicle pursuit involving Fort Worth police Sunday morning after colliding with two other vehicles and then crashing, police said.
Police said they saw a vehicle driving without headlights on Interstate 35 near Rosedale Street at 2:34 a.m. when it struck another vehicle and did not stop, according to a news release. A traffic stop was attempted by officers, but the driver fled, according to police.
As officers pursued the vehicle, police said it struck a second vehicle and failed to stop. The pursuit continued until the suspect vehicle got off the highway near Tarver Road.
Officers briefly lost the vehicle but later discovered it had crashed in the 1500 block of Tarver Road, police said.
Officers found two men in the vehicle. The driver died while the passenger had minor injuries and was taken to a hospital, police said.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the driver killed in the crash, police said.
