EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — The Diocese of El Paso is inviting members of the legal community and the public to attend the annual Red Mass on Monday evening.
Red Mass, a centuries-old tradition in the Catholic Church, is offered for judges, lawyers, and government officials of all faiths.
According to the Diocese, the Mass seeks the guidance of the Holy Spirit for those working in the pursuit of justice and provides a moment of reflection on the power, responsibility, and moral dimension of the legal profession.
The mass will be celebrated by Bishop Mark Seitz on Monday at 5:30 p.m. at St. Patrick Cathedral in downtown El Paso.
