If Lubbock were a person, they’d be the kind of friend who complains constantly about anything AND everything, but will also help you clean out your garage on a Saturday without asking questions.

Think about it…

What kind of person would Lubbock be?

First off, they’re definitely tough. Not loud about it, or dramatic even. Just quietly built different. They’ve seen some things (mostly weather-related), and they’ve accepted that life is going to be a little dusty. Actually…very dusty. They shrug it off and keep pushing forward.

They’re also wildly inconsistent. One minute they’re bundled up in a hoodie, the next they’re in shorts saying, “It’s really not that bad.” You never really know what version you’re getting, but you learn to adapt.

Lubbock, as a person, probably has strong opinions, too. About food, especially. Ask where to get tacos, and suddenly you’ve started a full-blown argument. The same goes for gas stations, traffic routes, and whether Midland is worth the drive (it’s not, according to them).

Socially, Lubbock is a mix of laid-back and slightly chaotic. They’ll invite you over for something low-key, and it somehow turns into a whole thing. But at the end of the night, you’re glad you showed up. Lubbock always knows how to party.

They’re not flashy. In fact, they take pride in not being flashy. Give them a good meal, a decent parking spot, and a day where the wind isn’t trying to fight them, and they’re genuinely happy.

And yeay…they complain. A lot. About the wind, the dust, the drivers. But the second someone from out of town says something negative?

They’ll defend Lubbock like it’s family.
