EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 74-year-old El Paso woman was killed Easter morning after she was struck by a car while walking in a crosswalk at Kansas Street and Texas Avenue in downtown El Paso, according to police.
The collision was reported at 8:14 a.m. at 100 N. Kansas / 300 Texas.
Investigators said a 2011 Volvo S40 was traveling on Texas and turned onto Kansas as Maria Patrocinio Longoria was crossing in the 100 block of Kansas.
Longoria was struck while walking at the crosswalk and was pronounced dead.
The driver was identified 86-year-old El Paso resident.

A contributing factor in the collision was failure to yield to the pedestrian, investigators said.
The death is the 13th traffic fatality of 2026, compared with 19 at the same time last year.
The investigation is continuing.
