183A Toll at Scottsdale Drive dedicated U-turn

Project: This project will shift through-lanes west and construct a new right-turn lane at Scottsdale Drive.

Update: Plans that include the first 30% of the design process are being reviewed.

Several changes to Bee Cave’s Thoroughfare Plan were approved at the March 24 Bee Cave City Council meeting, marking updates to the city’s future transportation goals in the area.

One of several changes includes approval of a final alignment for a Southwest Collector road that connects to Hamilton Pool Road, intended to provide an alternative path to Hwy. 71

The chosen option aligns the Southwest Collector to meet at the Bee Cave Elementary School driveway and includes one signalized intersection, rather than two nearby intersections.

Hutto moves forward with CR 137 roundabout project

Plans for a new roundabout near CR 137 and FM 1660 in Hutto are in the works, as City Council approved grant funding for the project during a March 12 meeting.

The project, which is being led by the Hutto Economic Development Corp., includes the construction of a roundabout and additional lanes at the intersection of CR 137 and FM 1660. The project is meant to help traffic flow better along the two roadways.

In a 4-1 vote, Hutto City Council approved $11.2 million in economic development grant funding for the project.

Ongoing projects

Ronald Reagan Boulevard lane widening

Project: Work is widening 7 miles of roadway on Ronald Reagan Boulevard from FM 3405 to SH 29 with a northbound-only section and a separate two-lane southbound road.

Update: Construction is currently underway.

The South Terminal at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport officially shut down March 31 after less than a decade in operation.

The auxiliary terminal will be demolished to make way for new midfield taxiways as part of the multiyear Journey with AUS campus expansion. That includes the addition of the 26-gate Concourse B with a new connecting tunnel to the existing Barbara Jordan Terminal, and the development of a temporary six-gate southern terminal called Concourse M.

While new terminal development will take several years, other Journey with AUS initiatives will be completed in the coming months. Both the West Gate expansion and terminal atrium infill projects will open in 2026, according to Austin Aviation.
