Texas A&M’s 2027 recruiting class is currently positioned as the No. 1 overall cycle in Rivals’ updated class rankings, and will likely finish atop the standings at the end of the year if the current momentum holds up heading into the summer. After landing five-star edge Zyron Forstall, coach Mike Elko and his staff are currently trending for one of the top wide receiver prospects in the cycle.
Ahead of his commitment announcement on April 15, four-star wide receiver Jaden Upshaw is reportedly considering Alabama, Florida, Miami, and Texas A&M, and while the Hurricanes are keeping a steady pace, Rivals recruiting insider Steve Wiltfong has logged his prediction for the Aggies to secure Upshaw’s commitment just nine days from now.
Standing 6’1″ and nearly 200 pounds, Upshaw reeled in a career-high 902 receiving yards paired with eight touchdowns, but did miss several games due to injury. Combined with five-star WR Erik McFarland, the Aggies are in striking distance of landing both blue-chip prospects and solidifying the future wideout rotation.
Similar to Texas A&M freshman wideout Madden Williams, Upshaw is projected as a Z receiver due to his ability to make tough catches over the middle of the field, and the run-after-catch skill set to break loose for additional yardage.
According to Rivals, Jaden Upshaw is currently positioned as the 61st-ranked prospect in the 2027 class, the 12th-ranked wide receiver, and the 5th-ranked prospect in Georgia.
