RAINFALL TOTALS: Given the current drought situation, the rain over Easter weekend provided much needed water for yards throughout the Coastal Bend. While most everyone saw at least some rain, the wealth was not spread evenly throughout the region. Â A good majority of the area saw around 1 inch of rain with certain locations in our southern counties observing 2 plus inches of rainfall.Â
Cities in our northeastern counties did not see quite as much rainfall with reports near Beeville measuring around 0.3 inches.Â

This rainfall will be accounted in our next drought monitor set to be issued April 9th.
LAKE LEVELS: Both Choke Canyon and Lake Corpus Christi saw an increase in rain from Saturday, April 4th to Monday, April 6th. This equated to a combined 0.12% increase in our reservoirs during this period. Compared to last week’s individual lake levels, Choke Canyon saw enough rain to see a net gain whereas Lake Corpus Christi still sits at a deficit. All in all, our combined lake levels have seen a 0% change from last week and currently sit at 8.03% full.
