LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A pedestrian has died after a crash involving a semi-truck in central Lubbock early Tuesday morning.

Just after 3:15 a.m., officers were called to a collision involving a semi-truck and a pedestrian in the area of 50th Street and I-27.

When officers arrived, they found 67-year-old William Goodwin.

LPD says Goodwin died at the scene.

Through the initial course of the investigation, it appears, Goodwin was standing in the roadway when he was hit by a semi-truck as it was traveling in the northbound lanes.

There is no indication at this time the driver was at fault.

The scene has been cleared and the Interstate is back open.
