Durant, who played at Texas from 2006-07, is one of several backers of an upscale dining and sports bar concept called Austin Sports Club. The restaurant, located at 205 E. Third St., Austin, TX, is slated to open in spring 2026. Locals looking for a job could have the chance to work there soon.Â
Durant will work in collaboration with partners Rich Kleiman’s Boardroom Hospitality, Airbnb co-founder Joe Gebbia and Lobos Hospitality — the Austin-based team behind retro diner Toasty Badger and popular cocktail bar the Powder Room. Lobos Hospitality’s website describes the vibe of Austin Sports Club as blending “luxury dining with immersive sports culture in the heart of downtown.”
“At Austin Sports Club, guests will experience luxury dining, bold global flavors, and a vibrant social atmosphere designed for sports fans, tastemakers, and trendsetters alike,” its website says. More than a restaurant or sports bar, ASC is a gathering place where refined cuisine, curated beverage programs, purposeful programming, and unforgettable moments come together under one roof.”
Austin Sports Club is currently hiring for several positions on the Lobos Hospitality website, including a Bar Manager, Executive Sous Chef, Sous Chef, and General Manager. Lobos Hospitality will be hosting a job fair this month, beginning Tuesday, April 7, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Toasty Badger and on Wednesday, April 8, from noon to 3 p.m. at the Powder Room.Â
The job fair will continue April 16 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Powder Room and April 17 at Toasty Badger from 2 to 5 p.m., according to the Austin Sports Club/Lobos Hospitality page. You can fill out an application online at the HeyHire website.Â
