Authorities in Fort Worth are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person whose remains were discovered more than four decades ago.
In a recent social media post, the Fort Worth Police Department said “we are seeking any information the public may have in helping us identify a deceased individual who was found on January 18, 1985.”
Police said the remains were “primarily skeletal” at the time they were discovered in a vacant field in the 3600 block of Village Creek Road. Because of the condition of the remains, authorities shared a digitally generated image intended to show what the person may have looked like around the time of death.
Investigators are urging anyone with information that could help identify the individual to come forward.
“If you have any information on this individual’s identity, please contact 817-392-4307,” police said.
Additional details about the case have also been made available through the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System, a national database used to assist in resolving missing and unidentified person cases.
The case remains unsolved, and officials say even the smallest tip could help bring answers.
