Progressive rockers The Mars Volta, who formed in El Paso more than 20 years ago, will be touring this September and will include a stop in El Paso.

The band, following a busy 2025 touring with Deftones, will perform at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at the Abraham Chavez Theatre.

Presale tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 9, and general tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday, April 10 at Ticketmaster.com

So far, the band has announced a 9-date run of shows. They are taking the stage at this year’s annual Louder Than Life Festival in Louisville, Ky., according to theprp.com

The band is known for its energetic live shows and concept albums. Members have roots in At the Drive-In, another band formed by Mars Volta members Omar Rodríguez-López (guitar, producer, direction) and Cedric Bixler-Zavala (vocals, lyrics).
