A Texas man has been arrested in Calcasieu Parish after detectives say he sexually assaulted a woman earlier this month.
According to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies began investigating on October 17 after receiving a report of a rape. The victim told detectives she went to a bar with a man she recently met, who identified himself as “Oliver.” She said she later passed out and woke up to find him assaulting her.
Detectives identified the suspect as Oliver Ramos, 37, of Rosharon, Texas, in Brazoria County. After further investigation, Ramos was arrested on October 24 and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center, charged with third-degree rape.
He was released the next day on a $400,000 bond set by Judge Tony Fazzio, according to the sheriff’s office.
