A deadly crash on Interstate 10 outside of San Antonio has shut down part of the highway’s westbound lanes heading toward Comfort, according to the Kendall County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities with the agency say exit 524 is currently closed while responders work the scene of what they are calling a “major” incident.
All westbound traffic has been cut off and is being diverted through Comfort, a small Hill Country town just outside of Boerne. Sheriff’s deputies say commuters should expect significant delays in the area, and alternate routes are encouraged.

Kendall County Sheriff’s Office posted the news to Facebook just after 3:50 p.m. on Monday, October 27.
“We ask everyone to drive carefully and avoid the area to allow first responders to work safely,” the post reads.
Law enforcement officers are expected to provide further updates as they become available.
