KFC’s Colonel Sanders has done a lot in TV spots over the years. He’s boxed, arm-wrestled, tossed sub-par gravy across kitchens, and crashed out in a courtroom. But he may have finally out-Coloneled himself in a new campaign that shows him break-dancing up the side of a skyscraper.
Dropped hot on Monday, the new 60-second spot features KFC’s first-ever single, a funky track called “Finger Lickin’ Machine.” It shows the Colonel dancing across a boardroom table to the astonishment of harrumphing execs, then dancing his way down a city street at night and all the way up the side of a skyscraper.
The :60 is rolling out across social and streaming platforms, including on Spotify. There’s also a :90 second extended cut “that plays like a music video”—and you can play it here or click it below:
Produced by the Chicago creative agency Highdive with music by Ryan Grieve for Hole in the Sky Music and choreography by Rich + Tone Talauega, the spot features a track “built to stream, replay, and live on repeat” and is designed to show up “across social feeds and sound-on moments,” KFC said.
From social feeds to streaming platforms to IRL drops, KFC said it’s moving “beyond the fast-food playbook, turning a campaign into something fans can hear, share and experience.”
