LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – High Point Village and Lubbock’s Habitat for Humanity are building playhouses for this year’s Casas for CASA fundraiser.
The playhouses will be raffled off with all of the proceeds supporting CASA, or Court Appointed Special Advocates. They help advocate for children in foster care.
Last year, more than 700 kids entered the system because of abuse or neglect.
“And we were able to serve about half of those children, which we’re very, very proud of, but there’s still half of those children in foster care that desperately need the gift of a CASA volunteer, someone to stand alongside them, be a consistent presence and advocate for their best interest and just really help them thrive and remind them that their situation that they’re in right now is not their forever,” White said.
Tickets are available for presale right now to enter a raffle, earning a chance to win one of the playhouses. They will be on display at the Market Street off 98th and Quaker starting April 17.
