The performance is part of the 2026 Morro Rock Tour, which follows the June 12 release of The Boxmasters’ 21st album, In The Bay. The album was largely written in Morro Bay, California, and reflects the band’s continued interest in 1960s rock, with strong influences from Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys.

Band members J.D. Andrew and Bud Thornton describe the album as a “humble attempt at making our ‘Pet Sounds’. We’re certainly not The Beatles or The Beach Boys, no one will ever be, but those heroes continue to inspire us. When we started this album, we had the general idea that we were going to make one of our more Sixties pop influenced albums,” according to details on the official concert’s website.
