The Dallas Cowboys dropped below .500 on Sunday.

The Cowboys were crushed by the Broncos, 44-24, on Sunday afternoon. Dallas, which was coming off a big home win against the Washington Commanders, had its momentum stopped right in its tracks by Sean Payton’s Broncos. Bo Nix and Co. did whatever they pleased against the Cowboys’ defense. Meanwhile, Dak Prescott and the Dallas offense struggled, as the MVP-candidate quarterback threw two crushing interceptions.

Dallas has shown promise at times this season, thanks mostly to its electric offense, but the defense has been among the worst in recent NFL history.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones announced following the loss to the Broncos that he is “not happy” with his current state of the team. The Cowboys traded All-Pro pass rusher Micah Parsons right before the season. Green Bay is 5-1-1 on the year, thanks in part to Parsons’ All-Pro caliber play.

Dallas, meanwhile, could certainly use someone like that rushing the passer…

“I am not happy at all with winning three ball games. At all,” Jones said while speaking to the media after Sunday’s loss in Denver. “Can we play better? Of course we can play better.”

Jones is considering a big move

The Cowboys have a lot of talent on offense, but it’s hard to see them doing anything of note thanks to how poor their defense is.

Jones announced postgame that he is considering a trade or two.

“If I saw a proposition for us to help this team, no matter what this score was today, then I would look at it on the merits of helping this team. And if you’re talking about trading for a player or trading a player, I would completely look at it on the merits of the team, both for next week or the weeks after or for the longer term,” Jones told reporters while speaking postgame. “Today would not affect a decision on trading for a player.”

Jones added that he is not considering shopping anyone on the Cowboys roster.

The Cowboys have a lot of ammunition to make a trade, thanks to two first round picks from the Packers, plus all of their own picks.
