Two men were found shot with multiple bullet wounds at a Houston nightclub after what police say was a robbery attempt, according to reports.

Two men were taken to the hospital in critical condition after the shooting took place, reported local news outlets Click2Houston and KHOU11. One of the victims is in his late 20s and received multiple gunshot wounds in his torso, and the other victim, in his mid-20s, received multiple gunshot wounds in his arms and legs.

Police say the shooting happened at 11:30 p.m. local time on Wednesday, April 8, at a popular Houston club called Confessions, according to the local news outlets.

Police are still looking for the shooter, who fled the scene, reported KHOU11. Police believe the shooter might have been seriously injured in the altercation and are checking local hospitals.

What happened?

A fight began when two men tried to take chains from another man’s neck, and others joined in on the altercation, according to KHOU11. The victim of the theft pulled out a gun during the altercation, shooting two people.

It is unknown whether the men knew each other or whether the victims were involved in the initial robbery attempt.
