The neighborhood marketplace has been a mainstay in Austin for 20 years, since first opening back in 2006. In the years since, it’s grown to seven storefronts now part of its repertoire both throughout Austin as well as within the San Antonio market. Now, the local grocer chain is teeing up its latest store in Austin’s Mueller neighborhood.
Royal Blue Grocery is constructing a 2,158-square-foot grocery outpost at 2010 Aldrich St., Austin, TX 78723, according to project filings registered with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) on Wednesday, April 8. It’ll join local favorites in the neighborhood, including Chuy’s, Honesty Mary’s, Alamo Drafthouse, Kerbey Lane Cafe and the Mueller farmers’ market.
The project encompasses the tenant’s finish out of a suite within the newly built building, with a tentative construction cost estimated at around $800,000.
Under current project timelines, construction work is anticipated to begin in early May and wrap by early August. TDLR project documents are preliminary estimates and subject to change without notice.
Referred to as both a bodega and a corner store, Royal Blue Grocery offers local produce, groceries and household products, gifts, beer and wine, grab and go takeaway meals, coffee and housemade specialties including hot sandwiches, curries and tacos.
