One of Houston’s newest barbecue restaurants is setting its sights on the suburbs. After less than two years in business, Levant BBQ is planning to open a second location in Sugar Land.
The uptown eatery, known for its Mediterranean-style barbecue bites, filed a permit to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to open up in Sugar Land Town Square at 15903 City Walk. This is the space that once held one of bellagreen’s locations-and about 30 minutes away from its Houston location at 5884 Westheimer Rd.
According to the permit registration details, construction for the estimated $100,000 renovation is set to be completed between June and September, but that could change. Levant BBQ hasn’t officially announced a second location or listed the Sugar Land space on its website. Chron has reached out to the restaurant’s team for more details. This isn’t the first time Levant BBQ planned on taking its business beyond Houston. According to Community Impact, the local restaurant was set to open a second location in Frisco in February. The eatery’s Instagram bio says that location is opening soon, but it’s unclear when that will be.
Levant BBQ joined Houston’s food scene with a mission to blend “the best of two worlds: the bold, smoky flavors of classic barbecue and the vibrant, aromatic spices of Levantine cuisine.” like brisket shawarma, quinoa cowboy caviar and sauce made with pomegranate molasses among other sandwiches, smoked meats and potatoes.
