Possession of controlled substance in penalty group 2
On March 30, an unaffiliated person was found to have accessed a building without authorization, UTA Police Capt. Mike McCord said in an email. He was arrested and transported to the Arlington Police Department jail.
The crime was originally documented as a criminal trespass, McCord said in a text. The arrestee was also found to be in possession of a vape pen that contained THC.
Possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 2 is a state jail felony if the amount of the controlled substance possessed is less than one gram.
Criminal trespass at a higher education institution with a previous conviction is a class A misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $4,000, up to one year in jail or both.
If the offender has not been previously convicted of trespassing on higher education property, the offense is a class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000, confinement in jail of up to 180 days or both.

Assault causes bodily injury
On April 2, a student reported being hit by a water balloon, McCord said.

Criminal trespass
On April 4, officers arrested an unaffiliated person who accessed a secured building without permission, McCord said. He was transported to the Arlington Police Department jail.

On March 30, a student reported receiving harassing messages from her ex-boyfriend, McCord said.
Harassment is a class B misdemeanor punishable by a fine not to exceed $2,000, up to 180 days in jail or both.
