All of the South Plains and Panhandle could use some rain. It has been dry for a while and going into this weekend, relief may finally be in sight.
According to both the National Weather Service and Rob Roberts of KAMC, relief may be on the way as soon as Friday with high’s only in the low to mid 80’s in our area. Rain chances increase to around 20% on Friday afternoon and evening.
Big Changes On Saturday
Saturday is the day everyone seems to be waiting for. High temperatures for the Lubbock area will be in the 70s and the sky will stay mostly cloudy all day long. Rain chances are expected to rise dramatically to 70%.
There is also a chance of severe weather with large hail and isolated tornadoes possible.

You will be wanting to pay attention to weather alerts on Saturday.
More storms are predicted Sunday, but mainly in the morning with high temperatures expected to be in the low 80s.
