LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – For the 16th year in a row, the “Silver Spurs” are heading back to 50th & Indiana, as Monterey topped Lubbock High 56-34.
The Westerners came out swinging when QB Zach Reyna connected with WR Israel Cervantes for a Lubbock High score. The Plainsmen answered when QB Jonah Reed found WR Noah Alexander in for the touchdown.
For Coach Sims and the Plainsmen, this was the second-straight win at Lowrey Field- where they have averaged 49 points against their in-city rivals. Last week, they beat Coronado 42-7.
Next week, Monterey will host 4-2 Tascosa who was on an open date this week, but has also earned statement wins against those same two schools.
