SAN ANTONIO (WOAI/KABB) — A body was found on fire in Texas on Friday after two bicyclists noticed flames and smoke along the Leon Creek Greenway in San Antonio, according to police.
Police said the body was found just before 9 a.m. at the Prue Trailhead off Leon Creek Greenway on the Northwest Side.
“There were a couple of people on the trail that noticed a fire and smoke. So they went to go investigate, and they saw a body, and immediately called the police,” Sgt. Raul Cardenas from the San Antonio Police Department explained.
Authorities confirmed that the body was a woman, and evidence of an accelerant was found.
“She was just near the trail here, in the woods, and she was there. There is some evidence of accelerant, and that she was set on fire. Now, how that happened exactly, we don’t know,” Sgt Cardenas said.
