CINCINNATI — Xavier University head coach Richard Pitino announced the signing of Rubén Dominguez to an athletics aid agreement. Dominguez, a 6-6 and 213-pound guard from Puerto Real, Spain, played as a sophomore this past season at Texas A&M.
“We are excited to welcome Rubén to the Xavier family,” said Pitino. “He is one of the best three-point shooters in the country and was an integral part of an NCAA tournament team last year.”
Dominguez played in all 34 games this past season at Texas A&M, starting 27 times. He averaged 10.2 points and 2.3 rebounds in 23.3 minutes per game, while connecting on a team-high 86 3-pointers. He shot 40.0 percent (86-215) from 3-point range, which was tied for fifth in the SEC, and he made 2.53 3-pointers per game, which ranked eighth in the SEC. In addition, he shot 87.1 percent (54-62) from the free-throw line, which would have been fourth in the SEC if he had reached the minimum number of attempts per game.
Texas A&M finished 22-12 overall this past season and 11-7 in the SEC. The Aggies made it to the second round of the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
