H Mart, the long-anticipated supermarket headed for Haltom City, is inching toward its opening.
“H Mart expects substantial construction completion by mid-to-late September 2026,” city spokesperson Nicholas Ballard wrote in a Thursday statement. “Following the completion of construction, the team will require additional time to stock and fully equip the store before opening day.”
It is not clear when opening day will occur. Projections for completion of the store, being built in a new shopping center at the southeast corner of North Beach Street and Loop 820, have changed multiple times in the last few years.
Haltom City and H Mart officials, in a joint statement Thursday, said global supply chain factors, including the sourcing of store fixtures and equipment, impacted the store’s opening date.
“We truly appreciate the continued support from the community,” a statement from H Mart read. “Our experience with Haltom City has been excellent, and we are grateful for the partnership. We are just as excited as the community to complete our build-out.”
The 195,911-square-foot shopping center that will house H Mart and more than 40 specialty restaurants, retailers and other tenants, is 100% leased.
H Mart announced its entrance in Haltom City — and the western half of the metroplex — in August 2023, to the delight of Tarrant County foodies who will no longer face an hour drive to the Korean chain’s nearest store in Carrollton when the new location opens.
