EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — A 55-year-old man is dead following a multi-vehicle crash Saturday morning, April 11, in Anthony, Texas.
Officers with the Anthony, Texas Police Department were dispatched at around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday along the intersection of Antonio Street and Wildcat Drive in reference to a crash.
When they arrived, they saw a multi-vehicle crash, resulting in the death of a 55-year-old man. Police have not identified the man and it is unclear how many vehicles were involved in the crash.
The police department did note that while they don’t believe alcohol was a factor to the crash, speeding was a contributing factor.
“As is standard procedure in all traffic fatalities, the scene has been turned over to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Special Traffic Investigators for further investigation,” according to the Anthony Police Department.
The intersection will be closed as the investigation is ongoing. Motorists are being asked to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.
“Our thoughts and condolences are with the victim’s family during this difficult time,” Anthony Police said.
