Thanks to recent rainfall, the Nueces County burn ban has officially been lifted, said County Judge Connie Scott.
The ban was put in place March 27, 2026 and set to continue through April 28. The ban was terminated early and the change took effect at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 10, as conditions improved across the area and, “no longer pose a public safety hazard that would be exacerbated by outdoor burning,” the statement issued by Scott said.
However, officials said they will continue to keep a close eye on fire weather conditions.
