LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – A gorgeous end to the week today is giving way to a much different looking Saturday. Widespread rain and storms for most of the South Plains is going to keep temperatures cooler and hopefully rain gauges fuller.
TONIGHT
Mild and mostly quiet for the South Plains. We could see some stray showers/storms in our northwestern counties through the late evening and overnight hours but generally nothing to worry about regarding severe weather.
SATURDAY

We have a Slight (2/5) Risk for scattered severe thunderstorms throughout the afternoon and evening primarily. The biggest threat will be straight-line winds and some large hail. High temperatures will stay a little cool in the 70s due to cloud cover and rain-cooled air throughout the day.
SUNDAY
Rain chances will dwindle likely before the sun rises Sunday morning. We do have a small shot of seeing a few showers and storms in the afternoon but that’ll mostly be for our eastern counties if that dry line moves further west into the area. High temperatures will remain mild again in the 70s and lower 80s.
